LONEY-Dobson, Shirley Catherine died peacefully and with dignity on May 9, 2019 in her 91st year; at Sandfield Place surrounded by the love and prayers of her family.  Devoted mother of Norm (Charmaine), Margaret Dobson Reilly (Frank), Katrina Rourke (Greg) and Tim (Mellissa). Beloved Nana of Hannah Reilly, Thomas Rourke, Normie Dobson and Olivia Dobson and special aunt to Jane McMillan, James Loney, Kathleen Weir, Ed Loney and Matt Loney.  Devoted friend and second mother to Beverley Anderson. Predeceased by her former spouse Rupert Dobson, her mother and father, Charles A. Loney and Margaret Sullivan Loney, siblings, Rev. Norman Loney, Joan Loney, Agnes Loney, Patrick Loney, and Collin Loney; Shirley is survived by her sister-in-law, Claudette Loney. Shirley is fondly remembered as one of the gentle red-headed Loney girls from Loney Brothers Hardware on Montreal Road in Cornwall. Shirley was a woman of deep faith and charity, a prudent housekeeper, and a wonderful cook; Shirley’s Sunday night roast pork family dinners were legendary. Resting at the Wilson Funeral Home – Boulerice Centre 218 Montreal Road, Cornwall on Wednesday, May 15th, 2019 from 9:00 – 10:15 AM. The Mass of the Resurrection with Commendation and Farewell will be celebrated in St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 15th at 11:00 AM. Private family burial to follow at Precious Blood Parish Cemetery, Glen Walter, Ontario.  Special thanks to Lynette Burnie for her excellent care and friendship, and to the staff at Sandfield Place — words cannot adequately express our sincere appreciation for the tender loving care given to our mother.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Sandfield Place Resident Council would be appreciated by the family.
